The Brain Capitalist (“we”, “us”) operates this website to build a community around the ideas in The Brain Capitalist by Michael J. Southworth. Nothing on this site is for sale. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What We Collect
- Information you give us. When you join the community or subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your name, email address and, if you choose to share it, your organization.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site secure and available. We do not run advertising or behavioral tracking.
How We Use It
- To send the briefing, the newsletter and invitations to gatherings you asked to hear about.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To protect the site from abuse and keep it running.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who Processes It
The site is hosted on Vercel. Form submissions are delivered to us by an email service provider acting on our instructions. These providers process information only to deliver their service to us.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. The embedded video is served through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set tracking cookies until you press play. If you play the video, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to that interaction.
Your Choices
- Every newsletter and briefing includes a way to unsubscribe.
- You may ask us to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@braincapitalist.com.
Retention
We keep community and newsletter details for as long as you remain subscribed, and server logs for a limited period needed for security.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
International Visitors
We are based in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States under this policy.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
